What is ERV
As homes and commercial buildings have become better insulated and more air tight, the need for fresh outdoor air delivered to the indoor environment has never been more important. That's why many professionals involved in the building industry as well as building code officials recommend — and in many cases require — that outdoor air ventilation systems be installed in new buildings both residential and commercial.
Energy costs and environmental concerns have necessitated innovative methods for delivering fresh, outdoor air that do not require large amounts of heating or cooling energy to be expended simply to temper the incoming air and maintain comfort within the ventilated space. RenewAire Energy Recovery Ventilation (ERV) systems deliver fresh, outdoor air for good indoor air quality without the associated energy penalty. By recovering a high percentage of the energy contained in the stale indoor air they exhaust outdoors, RenewAire's ERV systems use this energy to moderate the extremes of temperature and humidity of the incoming fresh ventilation air.
